Benitses Corfu ( Korfu ) Greece

Benitses  village is located just 13 km. South of Corfu Town. Benitses in the last few years,has been part of the municipality of Achillion with a special place among other beautiful villages.Beside the crystal clear waters of the beaches, awarded with the EU Blue Flag, a new harbour.

The legend claims that "Benitses" was named after a pirate's boat ,or even the pirate himself ,who was enraptured by the beauty of this place.

Local fishermen still launch their colourful caiques from the harbour and there are swimming platforms and jetties where waterport activities can be enjoyed. A Shell Museum with the best shell collection of Europe.

Plenty of bars and restaurants are available for evening and the town really has great character with many old buildings having been renovated in traditional style, so Benitses still has a charming flavour of old Greece.
